Your January 2025 Celestial Guide

Many cultures believed the sun, moon, and stars were gods and goddesses, manifestations of higher powers.

The ancients followed the celestial cycles of Earth, the sky, and the Moon as these natural events were deeply connected to their survival, spirituality, humanity, and the cosmos. The ancients believed the celestial cycles were expressions of divine order and cosmic forces. Many cultures believed the sun, moon, and stars were gods and goddesses, manifestations of higher powers.

Many ancient structures, such as Stonehenge, the Pyramids of Egypt, and the Mayan temples, were built to align with celestial events like the solstices, equinoxes, and star alignments.

Rituals, traditions, and ceremonies were aligned with celestial events as sacred and powerful moments of energy shifts for Earth and humans. Ancients believed humans mirror the Universe. “As above, so below. 

By aligning with celestial movements, we are reminded to honor our life phases as they come. Celestial events are powerful times for spiritual practices such as meditation, manifestation, and setting intentions. Observing celestial cycles teaches us patience and faith, knowing that everything has its season and unfolds when the Universe’s divine order and timing time is right.



Here is your January 2025 celestial guide:

January 3-4 — Quadrantids Meteor Shower

The Quadrantids is an above-average annual meteor shower peaking in 2025 on the night of the 3rd and the morning of the 4th.

January 10 — Venus at Greatest Eastern Elongation

Venus has been the evening star since August 2024. On January 10, 2025, it will reach its farthest distance from the Sun.

January 13 — Full Moon.

The January wolf full moon in Cancer is the year’s first full moon fully illuminating at 5:28 p.m. EST. In a double celestial wonder, the full moon will pass over Mars in what’s called occultation and appear closer than normal.

January 13 -Comet C/2024 G3 (ATLAS) shines bright

C/2024 G3 (ATLAS) is a once-in 160,000-year comet. One of the brightest comets in the sky in 20 years, first eyed in April 2024, can be seen with the naked eye.

January 16 — Mars at Opposition

When at opposition, Mar’s entire illuminated side is facing Earth and fully lit up by the sun. It will shine its brightest and this is the perfect time to view and photograph The Red Planet. A Mars opposition occurs approximately every 26 months.

January 21–25 -Planetary alignment

In this planetary alignment, six planets can be seen in the sky. You’ll be able to see four planets with the naked eye: Venus, Saturn, Mars, and Jupiter. However, you’ll need a telescope to see Uranus and Neptune.

January 29 — New Moon

On a new moon, the moon is positioned on the same side of the Earth as the sun and is not visible in the night sky. The January new moon is in Aquarius occurring on January 29, at 7:35 am.

When in conjunction energies are merged, positioned within the same zodiac sign, and appear close from Earth’s view.
